Motion design for digital music platform
SoundWave, a next-generation music streaming platform, needed a series of kinetic typography animations to showcase their brand personality and enhance user engagement. The goal was to explore the relationship between motion, rhythm, and letterforms in a way that felt fresh and musical.
We developed a unique animation style where typography responds to audio waveforms in real-time. Each letterform was carefully crafted to move in sync with musical beats, creating a seamless fusion of sound and visual design.
The color palette draws inspiration from warm sunset tones, evoking the energy and emotion of live music. Complex easing functions and bounce effects give the typography a playful, organic feel that resonates with the platform's young, creative audience.
Using After Effects for initial prototyping and GSAP for web implementation, we created a library of reusable animation components. The system includes audio analysis features that drive animation parameters, ensuring typography always moves in harmony with the music.
The kinetic typography series became a defining visual element of SoundWave's brand, featured prominently in app onboarding, social media campaigns, and promotional materials. User engagement metrics showed a 45% increase in session duration after implementing the new animations.
